I was born in Houston, TX in October 1991 to an Ecuadorian family. My creative works have been published in journals such as A Celebration of Young Poets,  Plain China, Bartleby Snopes, Cleaver, The Writing Disorder,  Word Riot,  and many others. I am the 2013 prose winner of the Glass Mountain poetry and prose contest and the recipient of the Sylvan N. Karchmer Fiction Prize. The winning stories were "The Fork" and "The Bullet." In 2014, my story "Signing Off" was nominated for a Best of the Net Prize. In 2016, my story "Wild Horses" placed second in Online Writing Tips' Short Fiction Prize competition. I'm a graduate from the University of Houston with a BA in English-Creative Writing and a minor in Medicine. I'm also an MFA graduate from the University of Texas at El Paso's Creative Writing Program. I am currently represented by Vital Narrative Press.
